Senior Network Engineer (Cisco SME)

We are seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer (Cisco) to join a high-profile enterprise networking project based in Melbourne. This is a hands-on technical role for a Cisco Subject Matter Expert (SME) who has successfully designed and deployed complex network solutions across large-scale corporate environments.

The successful candidate will possess deep expertise across Cisco Software Defined Access (SDA), Cisco Wireless (WiFi), Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), and Cisco SD-WAN, with a proven track record of owning the end-to-end design, implementation, deployment, and optimization of these technologies. This role is project-focused and requires an engineer who can deliver technical outcomes, provide architectural guidance, and lead complex network deployments.

Duties of the Role

- Act as the technical SME for Cisco SDA, Cisco Wireless (WiFi), Cisco ISE, and Cisco SD-WAN technologies across enterprise projects.
- Design, implement, and deploy scalable network solutions supporting corporate and branch environments.
- Lead network transformation and migration activities, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Collaborate with project teams, architects, security specialists, and business stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Perform technical assessments, validation testing,



troubleshooting, and optimization of network infrastructure.
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including solution designs, deployment procedures, and operational handover materials.

Skills Required for the Role

- Demonstrated SME-level expertise across Cisco SDA, Cisco Wireless (WiFi), Cisco ISE, and Cisco SD-WAN.
- Proven experience designing and deploying all four technologies within complex enterprise environments.
- Strong background delivering end-to-end network projects, including architecture, implementation, migration, testing, and production deployment.
- Extensive experience integrating Cisco networking and security technologies within large-scale corporate networks.
- Exceptional troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to resolve complex technical issues.
- Relevant Cisco certifications such as CCNP Enterprise, CCDP, or CCIE are highly regarded.

Important Note

This position is focused on project delivery, solution design, and deployment. Candidates whose experience is primarily limited to BAU operations, network support, administration, or maintenance of existing environments without significant design and implementation ownership may not be suitable for this chance.
