Description

We're all about helping our members make the most of their money. And while they go after their goals, you can too. As a Senior Portfolio Manager - Quantitative Research and Analytics, you'll play a pivotal role in enhancing investment strategies through advanced quantitative research.

You'll lead a team of quantitative specialists, setting research priorities, raising the technical bar and developing people who want to do their best work. Working within the Defensive and Liquid Assets and Portfolio Intelligence team, you'll advance data and quantitative analytics capabilities that support total portfolio management and investment insights. You'll partner closely with investment teams, data specialists and senior stakeholders to drive innovation and continuous improvement across the investment function.

This role is a permanent prospect and is based in Sydney or Brisbane.

Responsibilities

Day to day, you'll:

Develop and execute quantitative research strategies that support investment objectives and portfolio performance.

Lead the development of advanced quantitative models across the investment lifecycle, from research and portfolio construction through to execution and performance attribution.

Embed model development, documentation and validation standards to ensure consistency, robustness and scalability.

Oversee the design and delivery of interactive apps and visual analytics that provide actionable investment insights.

Collaborate with investment, data governance and quantitative enablement teams to align priorities and deliver outcomes.

Build industry relationships and monitor developments in quantitative methods, data science and financial technology.

Lead, coach and develop a high-performing team while fostering an inclusive and collaborative environment.

Support governance, compliance and risk management activities across the investment domain.

Qualifications

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

You hold tertiary qualifications in finance, mathematics, investments, commerce, economics or a related discipline.

Your experience within the investments industry includes strong knowledge of market dynamics, regulations, risk and portfolio optimisation.

You'll bring advanced quantitative modelling expertise and experience developing investment-focused analytical solutions.

You're highly proficient in Python or similar programming languages used for quantitative research and data analysis.

Your background includes conducting original research and translating findings into practical investment outcomes.

You'll demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management and influencing skills across senior and executive audiences.

You're experienced in leading teams, managing competing priorities and delivering results in fast-paced environments.
