About the role The Senior DevOps and Infrastructure Specialist will be instrumental in shaping and sustaining the digital infrastructure within the School of Computer Science and Engineering at UNSW. This position focuses on the automation of system provisioning, the management of secure and scalable environments for examinations and coursework, and the assurance of consistent availability of educational platforms. What you'll do

- Design and implement automated systems for provisioning and managing infrastructure.
- Oversee the maintenance and optimization of digital platforms to support educational activities.
- Ensure the security and scalability of environments used for exams and coursework.
- Collaborate with academic staff to identify and address infrastructure needs.
- Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance user experience.

Requirements





- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in DevOps or infrastructure management.
- Proficiency in cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
- Strong knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Ansible).
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
- Solid understanding of network security principles and practices.

Nice to have

- Experience in an educational environment or with academic systems.
- Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
