Shape the future of a brand-new Catholic school

St Carlo Acutis Catholic Primary School is an exciting new Catholic primary school currently under construction in the Cardinia Creek South Precinct, Clyde. Opening in January 2027, the school will welcome approximately 120 Foundation to Year 6 students in its inaugural year, with projected enrolments of around 500 students as the community grows.

As the newest primary school within the Diocese of Sale and part of St Thomas the Apostle Parish, this is a rare opportunity to join a founding leadership team and help establish a vibrant learning community from the very beginning.

Purpose-built with contemporary learning environments, modern technologies, flexible learning spaces, covered hard courts and expansive outdoor facilities, St Carlo Acutis Catholic Primary School will provide an innovative, inclusive and faith-filled educational experience where every child is known, valued and inspired to flourish.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an outstanding and faith-filled Deputy Principal – Learning and Teaching who is passionate about Catholic education and committed to excellence in teaching and learning.

Working closely with the Principal,



you will play a key leadership role in establishing the culture, vision and educational direction of our new school. This is an exceptional prospect for an experienced leader who is aspiring to principalship and is excited by the challenge of creating a thriving school community from its foundation.

The Deputy Principal will support the Principal in leading strategic school improvement and ensuring outstanding learning outcomes for every student.

- Lead and inspire excellence in teaching and learning.
- Foster a vibrant Catholic culture and strengthen the school's Catholic identity.
- Build teacher capability through coaching, mentoring and professional learning.
- Support the development and implementation of strategic improvement initiatives.
- Promote high expectations, innovation and evidence-informed practice.
- Develop positive partnerships with students, families, parish and the wider community.
- Work collaboratively with the Principal to establish strong organisational and operational foundations for the school.

Position: Deputy Principal – Learning and Teaching

Tenure: Three-year fixed-term leadership appointment, underpinned by an ongoing teaching position, with the possibility of a second period of appointment.

Classification: Primary Deputy Principal Level 1 (1–199 students) in accordance with the Diocese of Sale Catholic Education Limited Schools and Secretariat Agreement 2022.

Commencement: 27 January 2027.
