SLHD is seeking an experienced Visiting Medical Officer to join our Mental Health Services team. The primary purpose of the role is to provide high quality diagnostic and consultative specialty services in psychiatry and to participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Mental Health Service and Hospital as required.
Responsibilities
- Deliver diagnostic and consultative psychiatric services to patients within an acute adult inpatient mental health service at the Concord Centre for Mental Health.
- Provide direct patient care and clinical leadership within a multidisciplinary mental health team.
- Ensure a high standard of qualified performance and foster an academic environment that supports education, research and professional development.
- Participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Mental Health Service and Hospital.
Qualifications
- Medical practitioner,
currently registered or eligible for registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) and/or other equivalent specialist recognition.
- Experience as a staff specialist psychiatrist within an acute adult inpatient mental health service is preferred; candidates expected to be awarded their Fellowship within six months of application may be considered.

Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Public Hospitals Visiting Medical Officer Determination.
