Job Description
Position Summary: The Support Worker will provide assistance to clients in accordance with their individual NDIS plans, promoting independence, safety, and overall well‑being.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to clients in line with their NDIS goals and support plans.
- Assist with daily living activities, including eating, dressing, bathing, and grooming.
- Provide transportation support to appointments and community activities.
- Deliver respite care to clients and their families when required.
- Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of client care plans and progress notes.
- Communicate effectively with clients, families, and other members of the care team.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures to ensure client well‑being.
- Participate in ongoing career development to remain current with NDIS best practices.
Requirements
- Minimum of a high school certificate or equivalent.
- Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability,
Aged Care, or related field), or willingness to work towards completion (highly regarded).
- Lived experience and/or paid experience supporting people with disability.
- Availability to work across day shifts, night shifts, sleepovers, and weekends.
- Strong understanding of the NDIS and its practice standards.
- Sound knowledge of health and safety regulations and duty of care obligations.
- Ability to work with a diverse client base, demonstrating cultural awareness and sensitivity to varying abilities, backgrounds, and communication needs.
- Basic care skills, including first aid (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic digital systems.
- Access to ongoing training and development opportunities.
