Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research – Nedlands WA. The Perkins is seeking a customer‑focused and highly organised Venue Coordinator to coordinate events, venue hire and meeting spaces across our Nedlands and Murdoch campuses. This permanent full‑time position offers salary packaging ($18,550) and generous leave advantages. The role is located at our state‑of‑the‑art medical research facilities in Nedlands.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate venue bookings and provide end‑to‑end event support for internal and external clients.
- Manage event logistics, including catering, audiovisual equipment, parking, security and contractor coordination.
- Promote events through digital signage and assist with the development of promotional content.
- Provide basic technical support for audiovisual equipment and coordinate maintenance with external providers.
- Identify opportunities to improve venue utilisation and enhance the overall customer experience.
- Manage the administration associated with venue hire, event bookings and consultation room scheduling.
- Prepare venue hire invoices and assist with reviewing venue service fees.
- Liaise with the Facilities Management team and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of events.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills,
with the ability to build positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- A proactive, customer‑focused approach and a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Confidence working independently and collaboratively within a team in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Experience using Microsoft Office and booking or scheduling systems, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies.
- Experience coordinating events, venue hire or customer‑facing operations (highly regarded).
- Experience using or supporting audiovisual equipment and technology (desirable).
