Victorian Sports Group is seeking a motivated and experienced Irrigation Installer to join our growing Irrigation team. We specialise in the construction, renovation and maintenance of high-quality natural grass and synthetic sports fields, including soccer pitches, AFL fields, baseball fields, running tracks, and tennis & netball courts.

Based in Doreen, our team delivers sports facilities for local councils, schools, and sporting clubs across Melbourne and Regional Victoria.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in quality work, enjoys working outdoors, and has a strong understanding of irrigation installation and maintenance. You'll work alongside experienced professionals to install, commission, maintain and troubleshoot irrigation systems across sports fields, parks, schools, commercial landscapes and open spaces throughout Victoria - contributing to the delivery of a diverse range of high-profile projects.

Key Responsibilities

Install irrigation systems in accordance with approved plans and specifications.

Install PVC and HDPE pipework, including electrofusion and butt welding where required.

Install pumps, valves, controllers, decoders, sprinklers and associated irrigation infrastructure.

Assist with system commissioning, testing and fault finding.

Perform repairs, maintenance and upgrades to existing irrigation systems.

Read and interpret irrigation drawings and construction plans.

Operate plant, equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently.

Travel to various project sites as required.

Maintain a clean, organised and safe worksite.

Complete daily records, timesheets and project documentation accurately.

Team Contribution

Qualifications, Experience & Attributes

Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in commercial irrigation installation.

Experience with HDPE pipework and electrofusion welding, preferred.

Experience installing pumps, controllers and irrigation infrastructure.

Previous experience in landscaping, construction, sports field works or similar environments, preferred.

Construction White Card, required.

Current Driver’s Licence and reliable transport to access job sites.

Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain.

Physically fit and capable of manual labour, including lifting 20kg+ and working outdoors in varying conditions.

Ability to work across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria when required.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends and occasional overtime.

Licensed Irrigation Installer.

Excavator, skid steer or other plant operating experience.

HR or MR Truck Licence.

First Aid Certificate.
