About the role

The Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Unit is dedicated to minimizing the likelihood of individuals engaging in or continuing violent extremist activities while addressing the broader societal effects of such extremism. The Communications Officer will play a key role in creating communication materials aimed at increasing awareness about violent extremism, the pathways to radicalization, and the support systems available through the CVE initiative. Additionally, this role focuses on enhancing community resilience against violent extremism.

What you'll do

- Develop and produce communication materials to inform the public about violent extremism and available support services.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to promote community resilience initiatives and enhance awareness of radicalization pathways.

Requirements

- A degree in communications, public relations, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a communications role,



preferably within a government or community-focused environment.
- Proven ability to create engaging content for diverse audiences across various platforms.
- Strong understanding of issues related to violent extremism and community engagement strategies.

Nice to have

- Experience in crisis communication or risk management.
- Familiarity with digital communication tools and social media strategies.

Skills & tools

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, and content management systems.
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to inform communication strategies.
