Your role honestly





The Admissions and Onboarding Advisor is responsible for supporting students through a seamless end-to-end journey from application through to enrolment, commencement, and the early stages of study through to census at JMC Academy. Working within a national operating model and with primary responsibility for allocated state/campus/course, the role manages domestic and international applications and supports students through onboarding and early transition to study. This includes assessing and validating documentation, issuing and managing offers, coordinating acceptance and commencement requirements, delivering structured onboarding communications and outreach, ensuring compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate records across CRM and Student Management Systems, and providing clear, timely communication to applicants, commencing students, and internal stakeholders.

The role continues to support students beyond enrolment through proactive outreach, engagement initiatives, and events such as Orientation, using student data and engagement insights to identify students who may require additional support. The Admissions and Onboarding Advisor delivers early interventions where appropriate and coordinates referrals as required, working collaboratively with Sales and Conversion, Student Services, and relevant national teams to ensure a consistent, connected, and student-centred experience through to census.

What you’ll do

- Review and assess student applications against course entry criteria.
- Validate supporting documentation, including ID, transcripts, certificates, and English language proficiency (as required).
- Manage the assessment process in accordance with JMC policies and procedures.
- Generate and issue Offers of Admission (conditional and unconditional), Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) as required.
- Ensure acceptance and commencement conditions, including payment and documentation, are met before progressing enrolment.
- Ensure applications meet institutional, course, and government requirements, including TEQSA, ESOS, and funding eligibility (e.g., VET Student Loans).
- Deliver structured onboarding communications, proactive outreach, and engagement initiatives to support student transition and confidence.
- Use student data and engagement insights to identify students who may require additional support, delivering early interventions and coordinating referrals as needed.
- Track and report on student engagement, retention metrics, and early intervention outcomes to inform continuous improvement.
- Work closely with Sales and Conversion, Student Services, Academic teams, Marketing, and relevant national teams to ensure a smooth and consistent student experience.
- Act as a point of contact for applicants, commencing students, and internal stakeholders, providing clear, supportive, and accurate guidance throughout the early student lifecycle.




- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in CRM and Student Management Systems.
- Flag trends or recurring issues to inform process improvements and support national initiatives.

What you’ll bring

- Demonstrated experience in tertiary admissions, compliance, or student services, including understanding of Credit/RPL processes.
- Experience working within cross-functional teams, including Sales, Academic, Student Services, Marketing, and national teams.
- Solid professional communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, supportive guidance to applicants, audition/folio candidates, and commencing students.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, including applications, audition/folio assessments, onboarding activities, and events.
- Maintain high attention to detail in compliance, documentation, and reporting.
- Prioritise tasks effectively to meet service standards and operational requirements.
- Desirable - knowledge of domestic and international regulatory frameworks and policies governing student admissions.
- Desirable - Experience managing international student applications, including visa checks, OSHC, and related compliance processes.

The practical bits

BASE: Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane, with hybrid working and some in-office presence for collaboration and key events.

REPORTS TO: National Student Administration Lead

TYPE: Full time, permanent.

SALARY: Competitive, commensurate with experience; we’ll talk specifics early in the process.
