Role Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Cost Controller to join a high‑performing team supporting a portfolio of Sustaining Capital Projects. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring project financial performance through cost monitoring, forecasting, reporting, and governance activities. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Site Stakeholders, and Finance teams, you will provide valuable insights that drive informed decision‑making and optimise capital expenditure outcomes. This position is ideally suited to a proactive and analytical qualified who enjoys partnering with stakeholders, influencing project performance, and contributing to the successful delivery of sustaining capital programs within a dynamic operational environment.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

- Proven experience in project cost control, cost analysis, or project controls within mining, resources, engineering, or heavy industry environments.




- Strong understanding of sustaining capital expenditure management and project financial reporting.
- Experience working with project management and financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, or similar reporting platforms.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities.
- Ability to identify cost drivers, analyse trends, and provide recommendations to improve financial performance.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate cost review meetings and present findings to management.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Monitor, track, and forecast sustaining capital project costs against approved budgets.
- Prepare cost reports, variance analysis, and financial forecasts to support decision-making.
- Identify cost drivers and recommend opportunities to improve cost performance and project efficiency.
- Facilitate cost reviews, audits, and governance activities, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
- Support business planning, budgeting, and capital reporting processes while partnering with project and finance stakeholders.
