As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will provide expertise in electrical design for both single and multi‑disciplinary projects. You’ll lead small to medium‑size design packages within larger, complex programmes, ensuring best practice delivery while managing costs and timelines. You will also build strong client relationships and play a key role in developing our Building Services team, contributing to broader strategic goals and the continued growth of the business.
About the Team
Our Sydney Building Services team is a well‑established, collaborative group within WSP’s national Property and Buildings business. You’ll be joining a great mix of highly experienced, long‑standing team members and fresh talent, creating a genuinely supportive and inclusive culture where successes are celebrated together.
The team is delivering a strong pipeline of Tier 1 projects across sectors including Transport, Defence, Data Centres, Commercial and Health, offering plenty of variety and technical challenge. Backed by national capability, the Sydney team combines local connection with the scale and opportunity of a global business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide electrical design leadership on both single and multi‑disciplinary projects across a range of sectors
- Lead small to medium‑size engineering design projects and support larger,
more complex projects to ensure effective and productive delivery
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with external clients and authorities, as well as internal colleagues and managers, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes
- Deliver best practices to achieve optimal outcomes for clients, focusing on saving time and reducing costs without compromising on quality
- Build solid, long‑term relationships with clients, identifying new business development opportunities and understanding their evolving needs
- Contribute to the development and growth of the business unit by supporting strategic goals and initiatives aimed at enhancing overall success
Key Requirements
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering
- 7 to 10+ years’ industry experience on Australian building services projects, ideally in a consulting environment
- Well versed in effectively delivering multiple, concurrent projects ranging in scale and sector
- Strong client relationship management and project management skills
- Sound working knowledge of relevant Standards and Codes (AS/NZS 3000, NCC, etc.)
