The Warringal Private Hospital is opening a new private emergency department in August 2026, providing high-quality emergency care to the community around Heidelberg.

The Warringal Private Hospital Emergency Department is operated by Private Emergency Health Australia (PEHA) in collaboration with Ramsay Health Care. PEHA is Australia's leading specialist operator of private emergency departments and emergency care centres.
Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Administration Assistant to join the PEHA Warringal team. This permanent, full time role is essential to the efficient operation of the emergency department, providing administrative, billing and operational support to the Practice Manager and clinical team.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative support to ensure the efficient operation of the Warringal Private Hospital Emergency Department.
- Manage Medicare and WorkCover billing processes
- Process invoices and follow up on outstanding payments
- Assist with practice financial reporting and data capture
- Support the Practice Manager with a range of administrative and operational tasks
- Liaise with Warringal Private Hospital administrative staff
- Provide onsite support to PEHA doctors, including orientation and onboarding of new medical staff.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent. Qualifications in medical administration or business administration are advantageous.
- Previous experience in a medical administration, healthcare administration or office administration role is preferred. We also welcome applications from enthusiastic entry-level candidates with strong administrative skills and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using medical practice software (or the ability to quickly learn new systems).
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A professional approach with a commitment to accuracy, confidentiality and attention to detail.
