What you’ll do
- Develop and maintain automated test frameworks using Python to ensure comprehensive coverage of our software products.
- Collaborate with software engineers to understand product features and identify testing requirements early in the development process.
- Design and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts that effectively validate software functionality and performance.
- Analyze test results, identify defects, and work with development teams to facilitate timely resolutions.
- Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices to streamline the testing process and enhance software delivery.
- Participate in code reviews to provide feedback on testability and quality aspects of the codebase.
- Mentor junior engineers in testing best practices and contribute to the overall growth of the testing team.
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in testing tools and methodologies to continuously improve our testing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals and deliverables.
- Document testing processes, results, and best practices to create a knowledge base for future reference.
- Contribute to the development of performance testing strategies to ensure our applications can handle expected loads.
- Engage in troubleshooting and debugging efforts to resolve complex issues that arise during testing.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing, with a strong emphasis on automated testing.
- Proficiency in Python and experience with testing frameworks such as pytest or unittest.
- Solid understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile and DevOps practices.
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar.
- Familiarity with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
- A passion for quality and a commitment to continuous improvement in software testing practices.
Nice to have
- Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter or LoadRunner.
- Knowledge of cloud services and containerization technologies such as AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with mobile application testing and related tools.
- Previous experience in a role that involved mentoring or leading a team.
- Understanding of security testing principles and practices.
