About the Team:

Community Health delivers high-quality education across the areas of Aged Care, Disability Support, Health Administration, Health Services Assistance, and Allied Health. We offer a diverse range of training programs, from single-day short courses to Diploma-level qualifications, delivered across our Werribee, Sunshine, and Footscray Nicholson campuses.

About the Role:

The overall purpose of the Laboratory Assistant – Community Health is to support administration and monitoring of the Community Health Laboratories within the College of Health, Early Childhood Education and Community Services. This position is responsible for the maintenance monitoring of simulation labs and equipment as well as the timely dissemination and collection of required documentation and accurate record keeping to support teaching staff.

Position Key Duties

- Provide a high-quality customer service to internal and external stakeholders and other visitors
- Provide a range of administrative support services such as word processing, filing, drafting routine correspondence, taking notes and action items
- Maintain accurate records relating to laboratory inspections, stock, equipment maintenance and incidents within relevant University data bases and systems
- Monitor laboratory consumable stock levels and provide assistance with replenishment in accordance with established procedures

About You:

The ideal candidate will have:

- A current Victorian Driver's Licence to travel to the Community Health Labs on 3 campuses.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to find solutions.
- Proficiency in general digital literacy including MS Suite
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise workload in a busy/demanding environment
- Demonstrated capacity to deliver quality client/customer service
