Senior UI/UX Designer | Web, AI Products and Accessibility | Sydney Based Location: Sydney, NSW
Employment: Full time, permanent
Work arrangement: On site, five days per week

You must have at least four years of relevant professional experience, advanced Figma skills, strong responsive web and interface design capability, and practical experience with accessibility, usability testing, AI enabled products and implementation review. You must be based in Sydney, or able to relocate before commencing, and available to work from our Sydney office five days per week. This is not a remote or hybrid role.
This position is not suitable for junior designers, branding or marketing designers, or UX researchers without advanced interface design skills. ????? ???????
KazGard designs digital products across AI enabled SaaS, enterprise compliance, education, robotics and social impact. We are seeking a Senior UI/UX Designer to lead the design of accessible, responsive websites, complex web applications and AI enabled products, from discovery through implementation and release. ????? ??? ????
This is a senior, hands on individual contributor role. You will lead discovery, requirements, information architecture, interaction and interface design, prototyping, design systems, usability testing, accessibility and implementation review.
You will work with executives, engineers, clients, community organisations and international partners, translating business objectives, user evidence and technical constraints into production ready experiences. ???? ??? ???? ??
- Research user needs, business requirements, content and technical constraints
- Define information architectures, sitemaps, user flows, navigation and content hierarchies
- Create wireframes, responsive layouts, prototypes and high fidelity interfaces
- Design complex web experiences involving forms, dashboards, search, documents, permissions, approvals, reporting and workflows
- Define loading, empty, success, warning, validation, error, recovery and fallback states
- Create and maintain Figma components, variables, libraries and design systems
- Prepare design specifications and production documentation for engineers
- Work with developers through implementation, conduct design quality assurance and document design and accessibility defects
- Design AI enabled interfaces, including generated content, sources, confidence information, human review, correction, uncertainty and fallback experiences
- Consider model behaviour, data quality, bias, privacy, security and human oversight
- Define product requirements relating to APIs, data flows, authentication, permissions, JSON, webhooks and system behaviour
- Create functional prototypes using Figma, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Cursor, Codex or comparable tools where useful
- Conduct interviews, co design sessions, usability tests, heuristic evaluations, cognitive walkthroughs and accessibility reviews
- Analyse research and product analytics, then translate findings into prioritised recommendations
- Apply WCAG 2.2 and relevant W3C guidance, including keyboard navigation, screen readers, reflow, contrast and cognitive accessibility
- Present design decisions, risks and dependencies clearly to technical and non technical stakeholders ????????? ????????????
- At least four years of professional experience in UI/UX, web, interaction or digital product design
- A relevant master degree or higher qualification, or equivalent substantial skilled experience
- A portfolio with at least three detailed case studies involving shipped websites or web applications
- Experience taking digital products from discovery through design, testing, implementation and release
- Advanced Figma skills, including components, variables, libraries, prototyping and design systems
- Strong information architecture, navigation, responsive web design and visual interface design capability
- Experience designing complex forms, dashboards, workflows, authenticated products or data rich applications
- Demonstrated application of WCAG requirements in at least one live website or web application
- Experience conducting usability testing, interviews, heuristic evaluations or cognitive walkthroughs
- Experience designing a product involving AI, machine learning, automation or complex data
- Working knowledge of APIs, JSON, authentication, permissions, webhooks,
front end architecture and back end logic as they affect the user experience
- Experience working directly with developers through implementation review and production release
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and professional fluency in English

Your portfolio must demonstrate your individual contribution, process, decisions, implementation and outcomes.
At least one case study must involve a complex web product and demonstrate several of the following:
- Information architecture, navigation and responsive interface design
- Authentication, permissions, forms, workflows or dashboards
- Design systems, accessibility and usability testing
- API, data or AI enabled functionality
- Implementation review and measurable outcomes Portfolios containing only final mockups, without evidence of process, decisions or implementation, will not meet the requirements. ?????? ????????
Experience with enterprise SaaS, regulated industries, LLM products, Retrieval Augmented Generation, product analytics, R or RStudio, coded prototyping, W3C participation, robotics, IoT, Aboriginal or community organisations, social impact, education, startups, international stakeholders, systemic design or ecodesign. ??? ???? ???????
- Work on real products involving AI, documents, data, automation and operational workflows
- Take ownership across the complete design lifecycle
- Collaborate directly with executives, engineers, clients and community stakeholders
- Help strengthen our accessibility, research, design system and web design practices ??? ?? ?????
