Senior Unix Administrator (Contract)

Location: Sydney, Australia

Experience: 8+ Years

Key Responsibilities:

- Administer and support Unix/Linux environments (RHEL, AIX, Solaris).
- Manage VMware infrastructure (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter) and support cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Perform installation, patching, upgrades, monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
- Automate routine tasks using Shell scripting and Ansible.
- Manage system security, user administration, backups, and disaster recovery.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, network, and security teams to ensure high availability and operational excellence.
- Participate in incident, change, and problem management following ITIL best practices.

Required Skills:

- 8+ years of Unix/Linux administration experience.
- Solid expertise in RHEL, AIX, or Solaris.
- Hands-on experience with VMware (vSphere, ESXi, vCenter).
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proficiency in Shell scripting (Bash/KornShell) and Ansible.
- Good understanding of networking (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, SSH), LVM, and performance tuning.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.

Preferred: RHCE/RHCSA, VMware VCP, or cloud certifications.
