Jacobs is seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Water Resources Engineer (Flood) to join our fast-growing ANZ Water Resources team and can be based in either Perth or Brisbane The successful Senior Water Resources Engineer will help us deliver a strong pipeline of work on high profile and challenging projects that span natural resource management to major infrastructure design.
We invest in building and sustaining trusted relationships with key clients across ANZ, as well as contribute to a range of joint ventures on resources, road and rail projects.
The purpose of this role is to lead water resources projects and to collaboratively work with other disciplines. You will be required to write proposals for, and manage, low risk projects.
You will be responsible for:
- Contributing to the delivery of water resources engineering projects, ensuring that client’s expectations are met.
- Project managing water resources projects, taking responsibility for budget, timeline and quality.
- Providing technical input into a range of projects in the area of civil design and/or flood modelling.
- Preparation of risk assessments and method statements.
- Data collation and analysis.
- Leading engagement with clients, stakeholders and regulators to support technical delivery.
- Preparation of proposals and bid documents. Data collection and analysis
- Undertaking spatial/GIS tasks to support data analysis and presentation of results.
- Presenting information to clients, stakeholders and internal management at meetings in a concise and effective manner.
- Authoring complex assessments / reports. Report checking and review.
- Coaching and mentoring of junior staff to help them build on their fundamental understanding of flood modelling.
- Previous working experience within a Resources environment.
- Proficiency in the use of standard tools, techniques and equipment that are required for the undertaking, completion, and delivery of your work. In particular, industry standard software like Tuflow, HEC-RAS, RORB.
- Sufficient knowledge of the legislation and policies that are relevant to your work
- An ability to build relationships with team throughout the Jacobs business, and effectively collaborate with the wider water resource practice to share technical skills, resources or work packages
- Robust communication and interpersonal skills – you need to be able to confidently communicate results and analysis with internal and external clients, and lead meetings.
