Role
This role plays a pivotal frontline carer role with a particular focus on nutrition and dining, supporting residents to live a life of fulfilment through the delivery of person-centred care and support according to needs and preferences of each resident in everyday practice. Assisting in the preparation, delivery, presentation and serving of resident meals.
Responsibilities
- Provide care and support aligned with residents’ preferred daily routines with a strong focus on meal choices and individual nutrition.
- Consideration of allergies and food intolerances.
- Enhancing the overall dining experience.
- Assist residents with meal selection and meal timing preferences.
- Prepare and set up dining areas to meet individual needs and preferences.
- Actively engage with residents to provide social and emotional support during mealtimes.
- Use empathy and kindness to foster a positive dining experience.
- Promote resident choice and control to uphold dignity and respect.
- Prepare and maintain dining experience areas and provide meal service to meet individual resident choices.
- Maintain accurate nutrition and diet information as required.
- Assist with quality food preparation in accordance with the Food Safety Plan, Bolton Clarke Food Standards and Dining Framework.
- Assist with maintaining kitchen stock supplies as required.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated customer service skills.
- Compassionate and caring attitude.
- Previous restaurant and/or commercial kitchen experience (highly regarded).
- Willingness to take direction from others.
- Reliability and shift flexibility.
- Good time management skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Valid working rights in Australia (Passport, Birth Certificate etc.).
- Complete a police check and/or a NDIS Workers Check (or willingness to obtain) prior to commencement.
