We are seeking a skilled and licensed Electrician to join our dynamic construction team on high-profile projects across Australia. As a key member of the site operations, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems in commercial and residential buildings, ensuring compliance with Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3000) and safety regulations. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse, complex projects within a collaborative and safety-first environment. Responsibilities
- Install, test, and commission electrical wiring, conduits, switches, outlets, and lighting systems in accordance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Interpret and analyze electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine layout and installation requirements.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and conduct repairs efficiently to minimize downtime and project delays.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to coordinate work schedules and ensure seamless integration of electrical components.
- Maintain accurate documentation of work performed,
including as-built drawings, test results, and safety checklists.
- Adhere strictly to WHS (Work Health and Safety) protocols, conduct site risk assessments, and use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Participate in site safety meetings and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in safety and quality.
Requirements
- Valid and current Australian electrical license (Class C or equivalent) with relevant state registration.
- 4–5 years of hands-on experience in commercial and/or residential construction environments.
- Proven track record of working on projects involving low-voltage systems, switchboards, earthing, and lighting installations.
- In-depth knowledge of AS/NZS 3000 (Wiring Rules), AS/NZS 3012, and other relevant Australian electrical standards.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, cable pullers,multimeters, and testing equipment.
- Solid problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with experience working in multidisciplinary construction teams.
- Willingness to work on-site across various locations, including remote or challenging environments.
- Current white card and relevant safety certifications (e.g., Working at Heights, Forklift License – preferred).
Work Experience: 4–5 years in construction electrical installations
