We are a subsidiary of the Dubai based ELR/MMI group owners and operators of over 300 restaurants, cafes and bars across Asia, The Middle East, Australia and New Zealand. We are also part of the broader high-profile Emirates Group.

THIS ROLE/LOCATION

We are looking for talented and passionate Commis Chefs (Level 4 Chef, Grade 3) to support our kitchen team in achieving outstanding results and delivering excellent dining experiences to our valued guests.

AFL Kitchen & Bar at Melbourne Airport brings people together through their love of the game. With a vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere and stunning views of the airfield, we offer guests a unique place to relax, enjoy great food, and soak up the energy of travel and sport.

We have part time and casual positions available with genuine potential for long term career progression.

The ideal candidate must be available to work on a 7-day rotating roster including weekends and public holidays and a combination of morning & evening shifts.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (but not limited to)

- Assist senior chefs with day-to-day operations of the kitchen utilising your skills and experience
- Inform the Head/Sous Chef of any shortfalls in stock or orders needed for the next day
- Ensure adequate stock is on hand, and daily prep is completed to make the full menu offering available while avoiding waste
- Ensure the effective and efficient preparation of all food items and making of orders
- Monitoring preparing, timing, presentation, and decoration of dishes
- Ensuring compliance with food safety procedures and hygiene practices

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

- 1 year experience as a Chef or Cook - Must have Food Handler's Certificate
- Demonstrated experience in a commercial kitchen
- Ability to effectively follow instructions and absorb new information




- Good communication and immaculate presentation
- Team player and display a positive and nimble attitude
- Able to perform in fast-paced environment
- Excellent Knowledge of Food Hygiene Procedures
