CUC Far West is seeking a motivated Widening Participation & Engagement Officer to deliver school outreach, engagement initiatives and Centre coordination activities across the Far West region. This part‑time role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting young people to explore future education pathways and confident working in school and community settings.
Working closely with the Centre Manager, university partners, schools and community organisations, you will coordinate logistics, deliver outreach activities, manage data and reporting requirements, and support the smooth operation of the Centre. You will also supervise the Program Delivery Support role and contribute to the delivery of high‑quality programs that make a meaningful impact in the region.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver school outreach and widening participation activities
- Coordinate logistics, scheduling and communication for school visits and events
- Complete administration, data entry and reporting (including Salesforce)
- Support project tracking, evaluation and operational tasks
- Assist with daily Centre coordination including enquiries, setup and facility checks
- Prepare communications such as school emails, event notices and social media content
- Maintain outreach resources, stock levels and materials
- Liaise with schools and community partners to confirm bookings and logistics
- Prepare meeting notes,
action lists and follow‑ups
- Represent CUC Far West at school and community events
- Build and maintain robust relationships with schools, community groups and university partners
- Contribute to evaluation, reporting and continuous improvement activities
- Collaborate with WPOs across the CUC Network to share best practice
About You
You will bring strong communication skills, confidence engaging with young people, and the ability to coordinate multiple tasks in a busy outreach environment. You enjoy working collaboratively, can manage logistics effectively, and feel comfortable presenting to school and community audiences.
Essential Criteria
- Excellent communication skills with confidence engaging students, teachers and community stakeholders
- Experience delivering activities or events with young people in education or community settings
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a small team
- Confidence in public speaking and presenting
- Ability to travel and current Driver’s Licence
- Current NSW Working With Children Check
Desirable Criteria
- First Aid / CPR
- Experience working with universities or education‑based roles
- Experience with community engagement or youth programs
Role Details
- Part‑time, 28 hours per week
- Fixed‑term contract until 31 March 2028
- Classified under HEW Level 6, depending on experience
- Salary and conditions in accordance with the Higher Education Industry – General Staff Award 2020
- Hours worked Monday to Friday, with flexibility to meet operational needs
- Occasional travel and after‑hours attendance required
