Experienced Pipelayer – Civil Construction

Location: Northern Suburbs, Melbourne

Pay Rate: $45.00 per hour + casual loading

Employment Type: Casual with a temp-to-permanent opportunity

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Pipelayer to join a busy civil construction team delivering subdivision, drainage, and utility infrastructure projects across Melbourne's northern suburbs.

Working alongside experienced operators and supervisors, you'll play a key role in installing underground services safely, accurately, and to specification.

Key Responsibilities

- Install stormwater, sewer, and water main pipelines to line, level, and project specifications.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot pipe lasers for accurate grade and alignment.
- Work safely alongside excavators, skid steers, and other heavy plant, directing excavation and lifting operations.
- Install pits, manholes, bedding, backfill, and associated civil infrastructure.
- Read construction plans and drawings, check levels,



and complete basic QA documentation.
- Maintain a safe, clean worksite and comply with SWMS and site safety procedures.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll have:

- Proven experience as a pipelayer within civil construction.
- Strong knowledge of stormwater, sewer, and water main installation.
- Experience setting up and using pipe lasers.
- Confidence working in and around trenches and heavy machinery.
- A current White Card.
- A valid driver's licence and reliable transport.

- Confined Space
- Excavator, Loader or Skid Steer tickets
- Spotter
- First Aid
