Salary: Psychologist: $83,898 – $118,318pa, plus super, environmental allowance, and leave loading

Specialist Psychologist: $120,464 - $139,824pa, plus super, environmental allowance, and leave loading

Senior Psychologist: $124,771 to $135,527pa, plus super, environmental allowance, and leave loading

Senior Specialist Psychologist: $146,281 - $154,889pa, plus super, environmental allowance, and leave loading

Your Role

As a psychologist or Specialist Psychologist at Wellington Correctional Centres, you'll play a critical role in supporting rehabilitation, reducing reoffending and improving community safety. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you'll provide psychological assessment, intervention and consultation services to individuals in custody while developing highly sought‑after expertise in correctional and forensic psychology. This is an opportunity to undertake complex clinical work, contribute to important decision‑making processes and build a rewarding career in a supportive government environment.

You'll work as part of a multidisciplinary team, where you'll conduct psychological assessments, deliver evidence‑based interventions and contribute to case planning for people in custody. Your clinical insights will help inform rehabilitation pathways, while your assessments and reports will support important decisions made by statutory authorities, helping create a safer community.

As a Psychologist/Specialist Psychologist, you'll also provide clinical leadership, mentor colleagues,



deliver training and contribute to the development of evidence‑based programs and practices in Corrective Services.

What we’re looking for

As a motivated psychologist, you are passionate about improving mental health outcomes and making a meaningful difference in people’s lives. You have experience assessing and treating a range of mental health conditions and cognitive impairments, using evidence‑based approaches to support positive outcomes.

You are interested in working with complex presentations and enjoy the challenge of a dynamic clinical environment where critical thinking and adaptability are essential. Robust communication and interpersonal skills enable you to build effective relationships with clients, families and colleagues, and you work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care.
