Bakehouse on Somerville is looking for an experienced Baker to join our growing team.

We’re a busy, family‑owned bakery in Winthrop, producing a wide range of quality breads, rolls, pastries, sweets and savoury products every day. We’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys being part of a supportive team and is looking for a long‑term opportunity in a bakery that values quality, consistency and continuous improvement.

About the role

- Mixing and preparing doughs
- Moulding and shaping products
- Proofing and baking
- Producing breads, rolls, pastries, sweets and savoury items to a consistently high standard
- Operating commercial bakery equipment, including mixers, moulders, bun rounders, proofers and ovens
- Maintaining high food safety and cleanliness standards
- Assisting with stock control and ingredient ordering
- Working collaboratively with the team to improve production, quality and efficiency

What we’re looking for

- Previous commercial bakery experience
- Ability to confidently complete all stages of bakery production, from mixing through to baking




- Experience operating commercial bakery equipment
- Strong attention to detail and pride in producing high‑quality products
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
- A positive attitude, strong work ethic and willingness to learn
- Someone who enjoys working as part of a supportive team and contributing to a positive workplace culture

What we offer

- Market-competitive salary of $75,000–$90,000 plus super , depending on experience, skills and roster
- $1,000 sign‑on bonus , plus a further $1,000 retention bonus after six months
