About the Role

We're looking for a commercially minded and analytical Assistant Category Manager to join our Products & Marketing team. Reporting to the General Manager – Products & Marketing, you'll support the management of our mobile devices and accessories portfolio, helping to deliver category strategies that drive commercial performance and meet customer needs.

Working closely with Product Managers and cross-functional teams, you'll assist with product ranging, lifecycle management, forecasting, inventory optimisation and performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Category Management & Product Lifecycle

Support the development and execution of category strategies for mobile devices and accessories.

Manage product ranging and assist with product lifecycle activities, including new product launches, transitions and end-of-life planning.

Monitor market trends, competitor activity and customer insights to support category decisions.

Commercial Performance & Analysis

Analyse sales, margin, inventory and category performance to identify risks and opportunities.

Produce regular reporting and provide recommendations to improve commercial outcomes.

Support promotional planning and assess campaign effectiveness.

Inventory & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing and Operations to support demand planning and inventory management.

Assist with forecasting activities to improve stock availability and inventory efficiency.

Identify opportunities to improve processes across category management and reporting.

About You





1–2 years' experience in product management, category management or a similar commercial role within retail, telecommunications, consumer goods or eCommerce.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify commercial opportunities.

Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets.

Sound understanding of inventory management, demand planning and supply chain principles.

Excellent organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail.

Robust communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across the business.

Full working rights in Australia with no requirement for visa sponsorship.

Experience within the mobile devices, accessories or consumer electronics industry.

Experience supporting product ranging, forecasting or category planning.

Exposure to retail or omnichannel trading environments.
