We are seeking a Fleet Mechanic/Drill Fitter to work on Underground Rigs in South Australia, as well as associated equipment and vehicles. We are looking for candidates who are driven, with a strong commitment to Health & Safety and a robust team focus. The successful candidate will work a 8:6 or 14:7 Fly-in / Fly-out roster, based at one of our client sites in South Australia. Shifts are 12 hours, dayshift only.
Responsibilities
- Maintenance and repairs to Boart Longyear’s Underground “LM” & MDR range of Drill Rigs / Newlands Erebus Mobile Rigs, and associated equipment.
- Maintenance and repairs of Heavy and Light Vehicles.
- Completion of Preventative Maintenance tasks and records.
- Maintaining adequate stock levels of spare parts.
- Time and maintenance record keeping.
- Work order creation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Solid experience carrying out Drill and/or Vehicle Maintenance.
- Knowledge and understanding of electronic control systems.
- Qualifications in a related field, i.e., Diesel or Mechanical Fitter certification.
- Experience maintaining and repairing light and heavy vehicles.
- Basic understanding of electrical circuitry / PLC controls.
- Fire-suppression qualification (advantageous but not essential).
- SIBS training (advantageous but not essential).
- Basic computing skills.
- Current and valid Driver’s License.
- National Police Clearance (less than 6 months old), or willingness to obtain one.
- Demonstrated personal commitment to safety.
