Job Description

Responsibilities

- Day-to-day responsibilities: Help clients participate more fully in daily life and community activities
- Conduct functional assessments and develop tailored treatment plans
- Recommend and implement environmental modifications and assistive technology
- Provide education and guidance to families, carers, teachers, and employers
- Deliver early childhood supports and promote healthy living initiatives
- Work collaboratively with other disciplines to achieve the best outcomes for clients
- Senior responsibilities will include: Providing clinical direction for the Occupational Therapy Team across the business, in conjunction with Allied Health Team Leaders
- Implementing and reviewing clinical procedures, policies and ensuring accreditation standards are met
- Organisation of Occupational Therapy student placement activities
- Providing clinical mentoring support and clinical education to the Occupational Therapy cohort, and wider health professional team
- Supporting participants' inclusion in the communities and activities they choose
- Assessing clients' emotional, cognitive,



developmental and physical capabilities using clinical observations and standardised assessments
- Planning and directorship of programs through the use of vocational, recreational, social and educational activities on an individual and group basis
- Assessing clients' functional potential in their home, leisure, work and school environments, and recommend environmental adaptations to maximise their performance
- Providing advice to family members, carers, employers and teachers about adapting clients' home, leisure, work and school environments
- Delivering goal-directed early childhood supports
- Assisting with community education activities to improve the health of individuals by raising awareness of healthy lifestyles, diseases and disabilities

About the Candidate

- Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Registration (or eligibility) with AHPRA
- Current, unrestricted 'C' Class Driver's Licence (manual preferred)
- The right to live and work in Australia

Desirable

- Willingness to travel by road and/or small planes to outreach communities
- An interest in rural and remote health care delivery

Work Environment

- Competitive salary + super + salary sacrificing up to $15,900
- 5 weeks annual leave + 17.5% leave loading
- $180/fortnight rental subsidy (Mt Isa and Longreach only)
- Annual flight home after 12 months of service
