Investment Grade Debt Lead

Senior opportunity within JANA’s Debt Research team.

As the Investment Grade Debt Lead, you will oversee JANA’s liquid investment-grade debt research capability, spanning capital markets research, manager selection, portfolio construction, and performance outcomes.

You will work closely with the Head of Debt Research and collaborate across JANA’s investment teams to drive research excellence, thought leadership, and client value creation. The role also includes mentoring and developing researchers and representing JANA as a subject matter expert in client forums and industry events.

Candidates can be based in either Melbourne or Sydney.

Responsibilities

- Leading liquid investment-grade debt research, setting the research agenda and identifying actionable insights for clients.
- Driving the evolution of JANA’s liquid investment-grade debt strategy and value proposition in collaboration with the Head of Debt Research.
- Assisting the Head of Debt Research in the portfolio management of JANA Fixed Income investment trusts.
- Providing strategic and client-focused investment advice, including sustainability and regulatory considerations within debt markets.
- Leading day-to-day research activity and developing internal talent within the debt research team.
- Representing JANA in client engagements, committees, and external forums as an industry thought leader.
- Collaborating across the broader JANA business to align research outcomes with client and organizational goals.

Qualifications





- Significant experience in liquid investment-grade debt markets, ideally in a senior research, consulting, or portfolio management capacity.
- Strong manager research and portfolio construction skills with proven ability to link research to client outcomes.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualification (essential); CFA or Master of Finance (desirable).
