GTE1 and Consolidated Mining & Civil Pty Ltd are looking for a full time Diesel Mechanic. Annual salary of $40 - $60 + superannuation. GTE1 Pty Ltd is a leading provider of civil construction, mining, logistics, and heavy haulage services in Far West New South Wales the surrounding regions. Originally established in 2004, GTE1 evolved from a food distribution business into a trusted civil and mining contractor, with a strong footprint in regional and remote project delivery. Following the acquisition of Consolidated Mining & Civil (CMC) in 2023, the company now operates with a combined workforce of 75+ employees and over 190 items of plant and equipment. We are committed to safety, quality, sustainability, and collaboration, delivering major and minor infrastructure works across government and private sectors.

About the Role

We are currently seeking skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanics to join our team at our Broken Hill facility as well as support our projects outside of Broken Hill. The successful candidates will play a vital role in ensuring the ongoing safety, efficiency and productivity of work throughout this period. You will be responsible for;

- Servicing, inspecting, and repairing a range of Truck, Trailers & Plant Machinery
- Diagnosing faults and performing servicing and repairs on a range of diesel-powered plant and equipment
- Attending to breakdowns and repairs in the field using a well-equipped field service vehicle
- Providing guidance and support to other team members as necessary
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment




- Diagnose faults in hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Respond to field breakdowns and emergency call-outs as needed
- Work with the maintenance team to plan jobs and order parts
- Ensure all repairs meet compliance, safety, and OEM standards

About You

- Possess trade qualifications relevant to heavy commercial vehicles or mobile plant
- 3-5 years experience in road transport, civil construction or mining environment
- Must be an Australian Citizen or have a permanent residency visa
- Current ‘C’ class Drivers Licence (‘HR’ licence and driving experience is desirable)
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- A current forklift ticket
- Experience across a broad range of machinery and equipment
