The Role
Based at our Dingley Village depot and working across Kingston's parks, reserves, roadsides, and open spaces, the Spray Technician plays a hands‑on role in maintaining healthy, well‑presented public green spaces for the Kingston community. You will work as part of the Open Space team, delivering integrated weed management programs that draw on a range of control methods to protect and enhance Council‑managed landscapes.
- Apply herbicides and pesticides using a variety of techniques including spot spraying, knapsack application, and stem injection to control weeds, pests,
and invasive species across open spaces and streetscapes
- Carry out non-chemical weed control methods including mechanical removal, hand‑weeding, mulching, slashing, and the use of weed matting to reduce reliance on chemicals where appropriate
- Support the planning and delivery of integrated pest management programs, identifying the most suitable control method based on species, location, and environmental sensitivity
- Maintain accurate chemical use records and complete associated documentation in compliance with legislative requirements
- Conduct routine inspection, calibration, and basic maintenance of spray equipment
- Follow safe work practices and contribute to a strong safety culture within the Open Space team
About You
- Current Victorian ChemCert or equivalent chemical application accreditation (AQF Units AHCCHM304 and AHCCHM307
