As we continue to grow, we're looking for a State Manager to join our thriving team and help us strengthen relationships, drive sales, and deliver outstanding service to our valued customers across South Australia.

Role Description The State Manager will support the General Manager Sales and be accountable for driving all Sales and Account Management aspects of our business operations in the South Australian market. Electrical wholesalers are a critical sales channel for the company requiring close and effective account management as the company's primary distribution channel with a focus on the electrical contractor as the targeted customer.

Responsibilities

Sales Strategy: Development and implementation of comprehensive sales strategies for the South Australian market that are aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives

Sales Execution: Maintain a high level of proactive sales activity across the market ensuring delivery of revenue budgets and other sales objectives. Track and report on weekly and monthly activities and results within our CRM.

Channel Management: Manage wholesale sales channel and direct customer relationships , whilst also being a partner to other sales channels & strategic partnerships, ensuring effective overall channel management for KPS

Business Development: Identify and pursue current business opportunities, partnerships and strategic alliances to expand KPS market presence. Build and maintain senior level relationships with key stakeholders, including electrical wholesalers, building and construction networks, commercial customers, and government agencies including Fire & Rescue and Social Housing

Customer Training:



Ensure that comprehensive product and solution training is regularly undertaken with the wholesale and contractor customer base across the state

Marketing & Sales Communication: Collaborate with the marketing department to introduce effective wholesale sales communication tools, including technical product information, catalogues, marketing initiatives, promotions and launches.

Industry Representation: Represent KPS at tradeshows, conferences, and relevant industry events, showcasing KPS product offerings and networking with potential partners and customers.

National Account Management: Support the GM Sales and maintain relationships with relevant wholesale electrical distribution head offices and key accounts

Pricing Discipline: Achieve sales targets whilst supporting the company's pricing strategy, maintaining pricing discipline and protecting margins

Sales Reporting: Prepare regular and appropriate sales reports and presentations for senior management, offering insights and recommendations, tracking progress and communicating results effectively

Proven experience in state or regional management, preferably within safety, electrical, or building products industries.

Strong skills in leadership, team development, and performance management.

Experience in sales and business development, including managing key accounts and achieving revenue targets.

Operational and organisational skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder relationship skills.

Understanding of Australian safety standards and regulatory requirements related to smoke alarms or similar products (or willingness to learn quickly).

Ability to work on-site, travel across South Australia, and hold a valid driver’s licence.

Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, management, or a related field are beneficial.

Proficiency in standard office and CRM software and strong analytical skills for interpreting sales and market data.
