About the Role
The Media and Communications Unit supports the function and mission of Wurundjeri Corporation in its role to promote, preserve, and protect WurundjeriWoi-wurrung Culture, Country, and cultural heritage. It does this through the elevation of Wurundjeri people and voices into the public realm – recording historical and contemporary stories, correcting matters on the public record, and engaging the public in discourse that is led by and centres Wurundjeri people and histories.
Discourse on First Nations histories, dispossession, and colonisation are harmful to Wurundjeri people, so providing support and safety for community members who engage in media and communications activities is one of the highest priorities for the Media and Communication unit.
