Our clients range from first home buyers and property investors through to self-employed borrowers, business owners and clients with more complex lending structures. This gives our team exposure to a broad range of credit scenarios, including refinances, purchases, equity releases, trust structures and portfolio lending.

With a growing client base and consistent deal flow, we are looking for an experienced Loan Writer / Associate Broker who is confident dealing directly with clients, capable of taking ownership of applications and genuinely interested in progressing into a mortgage broker role.

About the Role

This is a client-facing role responsible for managing loan applications from initial assessment through to settlement.

You will work directly with clients to gather information, review supporting documents, explain the lending process, manage expectations and keep applications progressing. You will also work closely with the broking team to structure deals, assess servicing, review lender policy and prepare applications for submission.

This is not a purely administrative position. We are looking for someone who can communicate confidently with clients, identify issues early and take responsibility for moving each application forward.

For the right person, this role provides a genuine pathway into broking. As your experience develops, you will become more involved in client meetings, loan strategy, lender recommendations and presenting lending options, with the goal of progressing into managing your own clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage loan applications from initial assessment through to settlement

- Liaise directly with clients to gather information and supporting documents

- Review income, liabilities, financial statements and other supporting information





- Complete servicing calculations and scenario modelling

- Research lender policy and assist with deal structuring

- Prepare and submit loan applications to lenders

- Manage lender queries, valuations, loan documents and settlement requirements

- Keep clients and relevant stakeholders updated throughout the process

- Identify risks or missing information and recommend practical solutions

- Ensure applications meet compliance and documentation requirements

- Maintain accurate records within CRM, aggregator and lender systems

- Support brokers with client preparation, loan proposals and application strategy

About You

- Previous experience in loan writing, mortgage lending, credit assessment, parabroking or broker support

- Confident and comfortable dealing directly with clients

- Strong understanding of lender policies, servicing calculators and application requirements

- Genuine interest in progressing into a mortgage broker role

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

- Highly organised and able to manage multiple applications and deadlines

- Proactive, accountable and comfortable taking ownership of the process

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Experience within a mortgage broking business is highly regarded

- Experience with self-employed, commercial or complex lending scenarios is advantageous

- Experience using aggregator platforms, lender portals and CRM systems is advantageous

- Competitive salary package of $85,000 to $105,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience
