Waverley General Practice is seeking an experienced part-time Medical Receptionist (3–4 days per week) to join our friendly, supportive team. This position is available for an immediate start, with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.

We are a well-established, independently owned (non-corporate) general practice with 17 GPs, supported by a range of Allied Health professionals and Specialists. We pride ourselves on providing high-quality patient care in a modern, welcoming environment with a solid team culture.

About the role

Shifts are rostered between 7:30 am and 8:00 pm, Monday to Saturday. Flexibility to assist with annual leave, sick leave, and occasional Saturday shifts is essential.

Key responsibilities

- Answering incoming telephone calls
- Greeting and checking in patients
- Scheduling appointments
- Processing billing and accounts
- Responding to general patient enquiries
- Taking and relaying messages
- Providing exceptional customer service to patients and practitioners

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:





- Previous medical reception experience in a general practice (essential)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Robust computer skills and the ability to learn practice software quickly
- The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- A compassionate, professional, and patient-focused approach, particularly when assisting vulnerable or anxious patients
- Reliability, flexibility, and the ability to work well within a team
