The Role
Reporting directly to the Payroll Compliance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring payroll excellence across the organisation. This is a high‑impact position with a strong focus on compliance, governance, and continuous improvement.
- Leading payroll compliance and governance frameworks across the business
- Maintaining the integrity of payroll data and driving robust audit processes
- Interpreting complex awards and enterprise agreements (EBAs)
- Overseeing Single Touch Payroll (STP) processes, including validation and back‑pay calculations
- Coaching, mentoring, and developing a payroll team member
- Identifying opportunities for process improvement and best practice implementation
Candidate Profile
You are an experienced senior payroll qualified with a strong compliance mindset and the ability to operate in a complex environment.
- Extensive end‑to‑end payroll expertise, including governance and compliance
- Proven experience interpreting awards and enterprise agreements
- Ideally, experience within healthcare or a similar large, complex industry
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical capability
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to mentor others
