Non-flying leadership role reporting directly to the CEO

360 Aviation Group is seeking an experienced aviation leader to manage the day-to-day operation of our small, practical and growing business. The successful candidate will combine strong operational management capability with thorough knowledge of CASA regulations, sound commercial judgement, exceptional personal integrity and a genuine commitment to treating every team member with dignity and respect.
This is a non-flying position. No flying duties form part of the role.

The General Manager will work closely with the CEO, provide informed and independent advice, and take responsibility for coordinating the people, systems and resources required to support compliant Part 135 and Part 138 operations.
The Role
Reporting directly to the CEO, the General Manager will be accountable for the effective management of the company's day-to-day operational and business activities. The role requires a visible, approachable and solutions-focused leader who can translate regulatory obligations and company objectives into reliable daily practice.
Key responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the company's day-to-day operational and business activities.
- Provide practical operational leadership across CASR Part 135 and Part 138 activities.
- Ensure operations are conducted in accordance with applicable CASA regulations, company approvals, expositions, operations manuals, policies and procedures.
- Maintain effective oversight of regulatory obligations and ensure compliance actions are identified, assigned, monitored and completed.
- Support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of operational management systems.
- Ensure manuals, procedures, records, approvals and operational documentation are current, controlled and fit for purpose.
- Maintain a strong safety culture and support the effective operation of the company's Safety Management System.
- Monitor operational risks, safety reports, hazards, compliance matters, investigations and corrective actions.
- Prepare for and support CASA surveillance activities, audits, regulatory reviews and other assurance activities.
- Liaise professionally with CASA, airport operators, customers, suppliers and other relevant stakeholders when required.
- Coordinate operational control,
resource planning and the effective use of personnel, aircraft, contractors and business assets.
- Monitor staff qualifications, training, competency, currency and recency requirements relevant to their duties.
- Support budgeting, purchasing, supplier management, cost control and the responsible use of company resources.
- Manage employee responsibilities, performance, development and workplace conduct in a fair and consistent manner.
- Provide clear operational, compliance and business reporting to the CEO.
- Identify and implement opportunities to improve safety, efficiency, service quality and business performance.
Essential Experience and Knowledge
- Demonstrated senior experience in aviation operations management.
- Thorough, practical knowledge of CASA regulations and Australian aviation industry requirements.
- Strong knowledge of, and operational experience with, CASR Part 135 operations.
- Strong knowledge of, and operational experience with, CASR Part 138 operations.
- Sound understanding of operational control, flight authorisation, risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Experience working with expositions, operations manuals, approvals, policies, procedures and document-control systems.
- Experience supporting CASA audits, surveillance activities, findings and corrective-action processes.
- Strong understanding of aviation Safety Management Systems and operational risk management.
- Demonstrated ability to manage people, priorities and resources in a small and fast-moving business.
- Strong organisational, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication.
- Ability to work closely with the CEO while accepting accountability for daily management decisions.
- A practical, adaptable and hands‑on approach.
- High personal integrity, discretion and professional judgement.
- Ability to remain calm, respectful and decisive under pressure.
- Ability to satisfy any applicable CASA suitability or approval requirements associated with the Alternate CEO function.

Loyalty and confidentiality are expected to support the company's lawful interests. They must never be used to discourage required safety reporting, regulatory communication or a legally protected disclosure.
Acting Alternate CEO Responsibilities
- Assume the applicable authority, responsibilities and regulatory accountabilities of the Alternate CEO role.
- Maintain effective oversight of the company's Part 135 and Part 138 operations.
- Ensure the company continues to operate safely and in accordance with its approvals, manuals and applicable legislation.
- Liaise with CASA, company personnel and other relevant parties as required.
- Exercise sound judgement and promptly expand significant safety, compliance, operational or business matters.
Remuneration will be adjusted accordingly for each period during which the employee is formally required to act in the Alternate CEO position. The acting period, additional responsibilities and applicable remuneration adjustment will be documented by the company.
