Role Description The Strategic Asset Management Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Perth, WA, responsible for overseeing the planning and optimization of the City’s asset portfolio. Day-to-day tasks include developing and implementing asset management strategies, coordinating asset lifecycle planning, and ensuring alignment with financial, infrastructure, and community objectives. The role involves analyzing asset performance data, preparing reports and recommendations for senior leaders, and supporting long-term investment decisions.

Lead collaborates with internal stakeholders, external partners, and consultants to prioritize capital works, manage risks, and improve service delivery. The position also contributes to policy development, compliance with relevant standards, and continuous improvement of asset management frameworks and systems.

Qualifications Candidates should possess strong Asset Management and Investments skills, with experience in planning, optimizing, and evaluating public or corporate asset portfolios.

Candidates should possess solid Finance and Analytical Skills, including budget planning, cost-benefit analysis, and data-driven decision-making.

Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse stakeholders and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

A relevant tertiary qualification in Asset Management, Finance, Engineering, Business, or a related field would be beneficial.

Experience in local government, infrastructure planning, or strategic planning, along with knowledge of asset management standards and systems, would be advantageous.

Demonstrated ability to lead projects, manage competing priorities, and drive continuous improvement in asset management practices is highly regarded.
