About the role
Blackwater Mine operates the largest fleet of draglines on a single site in Australia, with seven draglines and two electric shovels. The Reliability and Strategy Superintendent role is a site based position and reports to the Shutdowns and Outages Manager.
This role is accountable for the reliability department’s performance, asset strategy and continuous improvement of our electric draglines and shovels. The successful candidate will lead sustainable processes and disciplines to improve fleet reliability, increase Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF), optimise maintenance strategies and deliver fleet performance improvements across the operation.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic leader who is passionate about building and maintaining a high performing team to improve fleet performance and deliver world-class reliability outcomes across one of the most exciting electric rope machine fleets in the mining industry. What you will bring:

Strong experience in creating, implementing and achieving team KPI’s following business values and outcomes
Extensive experience in reliability engineering, maintenance strategy development and asset management principles
Strong skills and processes to review and optimise maintenance strategies to improve fleet reliability, availability to meet operational outcomes
Proven experience leading reliability improvement initiatives that optimise MTBF, availability, FFAS and operational readiness through effective asset strategies, data-driven decision making, defect elimination and continuous improvement programs.
Excellent technical reporting, documentation, and fleet management capabilities A proactive mindset with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with maintenance and operational teams to improve fleet performance and support business objectives
Sound understanding of risk management, safety systems, and Queensland coal mining legislation.
Key Qualifications
Engineering degree or diploma combined with supervisory experience in reliability engineering and asset management, or maintenance engineering within a mining or heavy industry environment.
