Village Dairy is an Australian-owned dairy manufacturer supplying major retailers, foodservice and private label customers across Australia.
With the launch of a significant new yoghurt pouch program, we're seeking an experienced Supply Chain & Demand Planner to take ownership of planning and coordinating the entire supply chain—from customer forecasts through to raw material purchasing, production planning and customer deliveries.
This is a newly created position that will play a critical role in ensuring service levels, inventory optimisation and operational efficiency as the business continues to grow.
The Role
Reporting to the Site Manager and working closely with Production, Procurement, Sales and Finance, you will own the planning function for the pouch business and help build scalable systems as volumes increase.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage customer demand forecasts and rolling forecast accuracy.
- Develop production plans in line with customer requirements and manufacturing capacity.
- Plan and purchase raw ingredients.
- Plan and purchase all packaging materials including pouches, caps, cartons, shippers and pallets.
- Manage inventory levels while minimising waste and obsolete stock.
- Coordinate inbound suppliers to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Liaise with 3PL providers regarding transport, warehousing and customer deliveries.
- Schedule customer dispatches and ensure DIFOT targets are achieved.
- Monitor production capacity and identify potential bottlenecks.
- Work closely with manufacturing to optimise production runs and minimise changeovers.
- Maintain ERP planning data including BOMs, lead times and safety stock levels.
- Produce inventory, forecast and service level reporting for management.
- Drive continuous improvement across planning and supply chain processes.
- Support new product launches and customer onboarding.
- Build planning processes capable of supporting significant future growth.
About You
You'll ideally have experience in FMCG, food manufacturing or dairy and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
You will have
- 3 years' experience in Demand Planning, Supply Planning or Supply Chain.
- Strong forecasting and inventory management experience.
- Experience purchasing ingredients and packaging.
- Exposure to manufacturing planning.
- Experience coordinating transport and third-party logistics providers.
- Excellent analytical and Excel skills.
- ERP experience (Fishbowl, SAP, Pronto, Oracle, Dynamics or similar).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent attention to detail.
Experience working with major retailers such as Woolworths, Coles or Aldi would be highly regarded.
