ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented TIG Welder to join our precision fabrication team in Dandenong. You will be responsible for producing high-quality TIG welds across a range of materials including stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium, and exotic metals, working to strict engineering specifications and quality standards.

This is a workshop-based role ideally suited to a welder who takes pride in producing clean, precise, and consistent welds on complex, high-specification security products.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

- Perform precision TIG welding on stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium, and exotic metals including titanium and duplex stainless
- Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, weld symbols, and fabrication specifications
- Fabricate and assemble high-security steel components to exact tolerances and quality standards
- Prepare materials including cleaning, cutting, and fitting up components prior to welding
- Inspect completed welds and ensure all work meets internal quality standards and AS/NZS requirements
- Set up, operate, and maintain TIG welding equipment and associated workshop tools
- Work closely with fabricators, boilermakers,



and the workshop supervisor to meet production schedules
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment at all times
- Follow all WorkSafe Victoria and site-specific WHS/OHS policies and safe work procedures
- Report any defects, non-conformances, or hazards to the workshop supervisor promptly

WHAT YOU NEED

- Proven experience as a TIG Welder in a precision fabrication or manufacturing environment
- High proficiency in TIG welding on stainless steel, mild steel, and aluminium
- Experience welding exotic metals such as titanium and duplex stainless steel is highly regarded
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and weld symbols
- Strong understanding of weld preparation, fit-up, and distortion control techniques
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to produce clean, consistent, high-quality welds
- Sound understanding of WHS/OHS requirements and safe work practices
- Ability to work independently to tight tolerances and meet production deadlines
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to producing work of the highest standard

REQUIRED LICENCES & CERTIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL

- Trade Qualification — Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (MEM30305 or equivalent), or recognised Overseas Welder Qualification with VETASSESS assessment.




- White Card – Construction Induction (CPCCWHS1001) — A valid White Card is required under WorkSafe Victoria requirements. Must be current and presented prior to commencement.

PREFERRED

- ? TIG Welding Certification – BONUS — Candidates holding a current TIG Welding Certification to AS/NZS 2980 are eligible for a salary bonus, negotiated at time of offer.
- Exotic Metals Welding Experience — Demonstrated experience welding titanium, duplex stainless, or other exotic materials is highly regarded and may attract additional salary loading.
- Driver's Licence — Full Victorian Driver's Licence (Class C) preferred.

WORK HOURS

- Monday to Friday, 7:00 am – 3:30 pm (or as agreed)
- Overtime may be available on a voluntary basis
- No weekend or public holiday work required (unless mutually agreed)

REMUNERATION & BENEFITS

Competitive base salary + Superannuation (paid at the legislated rate)

? Candidates holding a current TIG Welding Certification (AS/NZS 2980) are eligible for a salary bonus, negotiated at time of offer.

Salary negotiable based on experience and certifications
