We are a committed Child Safe Organisation, embedding the Victorian Child Safe Standards in every aspect of our practice. CCTV cameras operate across all indoor and outdoor play areas to ensure a secure, transparent, and accountable environment for children and educators.
The Role: Director / Nominated Supervisor & Casual Educators
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Director, Nominated Supervisor role is required.
The Director / Nominated Supervisor leads daily operations, compliance, and educator practice across the service. You mentor educators, model best practice in rooms, and build robust relationships with children, families, and the team. You manage rostering, staffing, administration, and ensure ratios and regulatory requirements are met. You drive continuous improvement through the QIP, uphold Child Safe Standards, and support a positive, inclusive, high‑quality learning environment.
You will have weekly mentoring sessions with the Educational & Compliance Leader.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Experienced leadership — Leads a team with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Director, Nominated Supervisor with a track record.
- Daily mentoring — Provides consistent guidance, coaching, and professional support to educators and team leaders.
- Excellent time management — Manages competing priorities, operational demands, and mentoring responsibilities with efficiency and calm.
- Advanced computer capability — Confidently uses digital systems for compliance, documentation, rostering, communication, and reporting.
- Fast, accurate rostering — Completes weekly and fortnightly rosters quickly and accurately, ensuring ratios, coverage, and smooth daily operations.
- Detailed mentoring documentation — Produces clear mentor notes with actionable next steps and purposeful follow‑up.
- Strengths‑based culture — Builds a positive, collaborative team environment that values educator strengths and reflective practice.
- Curriculum leadership — Supports educators to embed VEYLDF, inquiry learning, STEAM, and 3a practices through modelling and intentional guidance.
- Mentoring in practice — Works alongside educators in each playroom for 4 hours per day, providing real‑time guidance, modelling, and support to strengthen their knowledge and practice.
- Collaboration with Educational & Compliance Leader — Works closely with the Educational & Compliance Leader to ensure daily practice aligns with VEYLDF, NQS, Child Protected Standards, and all service policies.
- Warm, positive presence — Maintains a calm, uplifting presence that supports educators and families and contributes to a strengths‑based team culture.
Operational Management
- Complete weekly and fortnightly rosters efficiently and accurately.
- Oversee daily staffing, breaks, and room adjustments.
- Manage family communication and service‑wide coordination.
- Maintain compliance with National Regulations, NQS, and Child Safe Standards.
Curriculum & Quality
- Act as a curriculum guide, strengthening educator practice and intentional teaching.
- Support high‑quality programs aligned with VEYLDF.
- Contribute to the QIP and support A&R; readiness.
- Embed culturally respectful practice,
including strong Aboriginal leadership and inclusive practice for children with disabilities.
Child Safety & Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with WWCC, First Aid, Gecko training, and vaccination requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation, incident reports, and compliance records.
- Uphold Child Safe Standards in all interactions and decisions.
Communication & Relationships
- Build strong, respectful relationships with families, educators, and management.
- Communicate with clarity, warmth, and professionalism.
- Support families with guidance, referrals, and collaborative problem‑solving.

The role is paid at Level 8 – Director / Nominated Supervisor at $46 per hour, with five weeks of annual leave and the support of a kind, caring leadership team alongside dedicated Team Leaders and educators.
