We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Wall and Floor Tiler to join our dynamic construction team. This role is essential in delivering high-quality, durable, and aesthetically pleasing tiling installations across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. The Wall and Floor Tiler will be responsible for preparing surfaces, selecting appropriate materials, and executing precise tiling work in compliance with industry standards, building codes, and client specifications. With a strong focus on craftsmanship, safety, and efficiency, this skilled will play a key role in ensuring project timelines are met without compromising on quality. The ideal candidate is a hands-on trades person with proven experience in both interior and exterior tiling, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

- Interpret architectural plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine tiling layout and material requirements
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying adhesives or waterproofing membranes as needed
- Cut, shape, and fit tiles using hand tools, tile cutters, and power tools to achieve precise, seamless installations.
- Install wall and floor tiles in residential, commercial, and public spaces, including bathrooms, kitchens, balconies, and high-traffic areas.
- Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and grouting to meet aesthetic and functional standards
- Apply sealants and protective coatings to enhance durability and resistance to moisture and wear.




- Conduct quality inspections of completed work to identify and rectify defects before final handover
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and adhere to all workplace safety protocols
- Collaborate with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades to coordinate workflow and resolve installation challenges.
- Manage material inventory, minimize waste, and report on supply needs to ensure project continuity

Requirements

- Minimum 4–5 years of hands-on experience as a Wall and Floor Tiler in commercial and residential construction projects.
- Trade qualification in Tiling (e.g., Certificate III in Tiling or equivalent) or equivalent practical experience with demonstrated competency
- Proven ability to read and interpret construction drawings, technical specifications, and safety documentation
- Proficient in using a wide range of tiling tools and equipment, including wet saws, tile nippers, grout floats, and level systems
- Strong understanding of tile types (ceramic, porcelain, natural stone, mosaic), adhesives, grouts, and waterproofing systems
- Excellent eye for detail, precision, and finishing quality with a commitment to craftsmanship
- Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards (AS/NZS 3749, AS 1684, AS 3700) and compliance with WHS regulations
- Physical stamina and ability to work in various environments, including confined spaces and elevated platforms
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to manage time effectively on-site with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle for site travel
