Role Overview

This position is designated for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people only under section 126 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW). The University of Sydney Library seeks an Indigenous person with experience in information and digital literacy, learning design, or student learning support to embed First Nations knowledges, perspectives, and ways of learning into library learning resources.

The role supports the University’s One Sydney, Many People strategy and Indigenising the Curriculum work. You will collaborate with teams across the Library and the University to develop culturally informed resources that help students respectfully find, evaluate, use, reference, and communicate information, including First Nations knowledges and materials.

Responsibilities

- Shape practical resources such as Canvas modules, web content, assessment guidance, staff support materials, and related learning resources.
- Coordinate project activities including planning, documentation, communication, and evaluation.
- Help make First Nations knowledges more visible, accessible, and respectfully used in student learning.

Qualifications

- Identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander in accordance with the University of Sydney Confirmation of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Identity Policy and Procedures.
- Bring cultural knowledge and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, knowledges, communities, or materials.
- Have experience in information and digital literacy, learning design, student learning support,



or a related education setting, and understand how students use information in their studies.
- Can plan and document project work, communicate clearly with others, and contribute to practical learning resources.
- Possess unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the employment.
