Procurement Advisor – Town of Port Hedland
Level 5 – $115,619.99 per annum (incl $20,000 Port Hedland Allowance) + 12% Superannuation
Permanent | Full-time (Site-Based)
The Role
As the Procurement Advisor, you will support the Town in delivering timely and effective procurement and contracting activities by coordinating quotations and tenders, providing advice to internal stakeholders, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring adherence to legislation, policies and procedures.
You will work closely with suppliers, internal teams, and the Town's Legal Advisor to help deliver efficient, transparent and value‑driven procurement outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and manage tender and quotation processes in line with legislation, policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain supplier panels and support procurement improvements.
- Provide accurate procurement advice and draft standard contracts using approved templates.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships, registers and procurement documentation.
- Support WHS compliance and uphold the Town's organisational values.
The ideal candidate will have prior procurement exposure to operational or capital works. You will be confident drafting tender specifications in civil engineering, construction or maintenance environments and interpreting legislation and contractual requirements. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, clear communication and the ability to manage competing priorities – both independently and within a team – are essential.
Work Related Requirements
The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre‑employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for this role, as well as possess:
- Procurement certification or equivalent experience
- National Police Clearance
- Rights to work in Australia
