About The Position

An exciting prospect exists for a Mechanical Tradesperson to join our Major Overhauls Team in Khancoban. The successful candidate will work on various projects that support the life‑expansion of our assets, including installing, overhauling, and conducting routine corrective, defect and breakdown maintenance on generating units, auxiliary plant and outlying hydraulic structures.

Key Responsibilities

- Contribute to work planning by developing work plans and job steps to ensure accurate scheduling and execution.
- Identify and recommend improvement opportunities associated with maintenance and overhaul activities.
- Maintain a high level of safety performance by implementing a personal safety plan, exhibiting zero‑tolerance behaviour and leading by example.
- Liaise with regional production teams across the business to support maintenance execution during shutdowns, outages and routine maintenance.
- Install,



overhaul and maintain hydro generating plant, auxiliary equipment, outlying structures and other related assets.
- Work on projects that may involve dismantling and re‑assembling turbines and generators.
- Undertake mechanical trades tasks such as welding, fabrication, lubrication, hydraulics and specialised machining within the required competencies and authorisation.
- Maintain records by completing all administrative paperwork and utilising the maintenance management system.

About You

- Mechanical Trade Certificate (Fitting and Turning or Toolmaking).
- Knowledge of maintenance management systems and maintenance practices.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with a range of personnel and stakeholders.
- Fundamental computer skills.
- Knowledge of WH&S; and environmental policies and standards.
- Experience with rotating equipment, particularly turbines, is highly regarded.

Location

This position is based in Khancoban, in the Snowy Valleys, on a nine‑day fortnight. It is not a DIDO or FIFO arrangement. Relocation assistance can be provided for candidates moving to a location within reasonable commuting distance of Khancoban.
