An Australian equities trading and corporate finance advisory business is appointing a Director to lead its equities desk. This is a newly created leadership position as the firm builds out its senior bench. The business works with sophisticated investors, institutional clients, and ASX listed and growth stage companies across trading, capital markets and strategic advisory. The desk sits at the centre of that work, close to both institutional flow and corporate origination.

The Role

- Owns and grows a book of business across institutional and corporate clients
- Sets the strategic direction of the equities desk and leads its day to day operation
- Leads origination and execution of equity capital markets transactions, including placements, rights issues and IPO processes
- Acts as the senior point of contact between traders, corporate finance, compliance and external counterparties




- Leads and develops the desk team as the business scales

Background Required

- 8 plus years in equities trading, sales trading or desk leadership, including experience at director level
- An established network of institutional and corporate relationships, with a track record of originating and converting business
- Experience leading or originating corporate finance transactions, with robust ECM exposure
- Strong working knowledge of IRESS and OpenMarkets, and a solid grasp of ASX market structure and compliance frameworks
