We are seeking an experienced Technology Vendor Negotiation Lead to join a major enterprise-wide transformation program within a large Queensland organisation. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end technology contract lifecycle with a strong emphasis on complex contract negotiations, vendor governance, and risk management to deliver outcomes that drive customer advocacy and enable our vision to be the best workers' compensation insurer and make a positive difference to people's lives.

This role ensures that technology agreements are commercially sound, compliant and aligned with organisational objectives, supporting customer advocacy and enabling the organisation’s vision to be the best workers’ compensation insurer.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead end to end commercial strategy and negotiation for complex, high-value technology purchases (software/SaaS, cloud, services, data/AI, telecoms, and infrastructure), including negotiation planning, BATNA/options, price protection, IP/data, liability/indemnities, termination rights, service credits, and exit.
- Draft, review, refine and finalise QITC Comprehensive Contract terms, Modules, SOWs, and Additional Provisions, ensuring alignment to QPP/probity, internal policies, and program risk appetite.
- Establish and apply deal standards (fallback positions, clause libraries, negotiation playbooks) to improve speed, consistency, and outcomes.
- Provide specialist procurement and probity advice to Senior Leadership and the 2030 Transformation Program for sourcing approaches (RFx/ITO), market analysis, evaluation, negotiation reports,



and approval packs, partnering closely with Strategic Procurement.
- Ensure all sourcing and contracting activities comply with QPP/probity requirements and internal governance processes.

About You

- Tertiary Law/Commercial qualifications OR significant demonstrable contract law experience. CIPS, WorldCC, probity training, or cloud/commercial exposure is highly regarded.
- Extensive experience leading complex ICT negotiations and commercial management in government or regulated environments, with deep knowledge of QITC contracting and government procurement probity.
- Demonstrated expertise drafting and negotiating MSAs, SOWs, SaaS/cloud terms, data & security clauses, performance/credits, and exit frameworks.
- A strong understanding of security and compliance standards relevant to ICT (QGEA, ACSC ISM, OWASP) and the ability to translate these into enforceable contract obligations.
- Advanced commercial analysis skills (pricing, TCO, benchmarking) with the ability to produce transparent recommendations and executive papers.
- Proven ability to apply systems thinking to manage upstream/downstream impacts, resolve operational risk trade-offs, and land agreements under time pressure in multi‑party transformation contexts.
