The Opportunity An exciting opportunity exists for a Survey Assistant to join a growing cadastral surveying team in Perth. Working alongside Licensed Surveyors and experienced field crews, you will assist with a variety of cadastral and land development projects while continuing to develop your technical and practical surveying skills.
This role is ideally suited to someone who is currently studying, or has recently completed, a Surveying qualification and is looking to build their career in cadastral surveying.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with feature, topographic and detail surveys across residential, commercial and land development projects.
- Operate and maintain surveying equipment including GPS and Total Stations.
- Support boundary re-establishment, subdivision and title surveys.
- Assist with field data collection and recording.
- Prepare and organise survey equipment and site documentation.
- Work closely with Surveyors and Project Managers to deliver projects safely and accurately.
- Maintain high standards of safety and quality on site.
- Travel to various project locations across the Perth metropolitan area as required.
About You
- Currently studying or have completed a Degree or Diploma in Surveying, Spatial Science or a related discipline.
- Some practical experience working on cadastral surveying projects.
- Understanding of cadastral surveying principles and land development processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively outdoors and in varying site conditions.
- Current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Solid communication and teamwork skills.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Desirable
- Experience using Leica, Trimble or Topcon survey equipment.
- Exposure to subdivision, boundary or title surveys.
- Knowledge of surveying software and data processing.
- White Card or relevant site inductions.
