About the Role. About You.

Building something meaningful from the ground up requires courage, capability and conviction. Our Talent and Onboarding Specialist will work alongside our Head of Clinical Care and Head of Hospitality & Services to attract and retain the exceptional people Symbol needs to deliver on its promise of Positive Aged Care.

This is an office-based, full-time role with genuine potential to grow as Symbol scales. It suits someone who understands that the employee experience begins the moment a candidate first encounters your brand — and that it never really ends.

Where You'll Make Your Mark

Recruitment Assistance

- Support the Head of Clinical Care and Head of Hospitality & Services with end-to-end recruitment

- Manage candidate pipelines and maintain clear, timely communication with all applicants

- Conduct initial screening interviews and provide considered assessments to managers

Onboarding & Orientation

- Deliver an onboarding experience that reflects Symbol’s vison of warmth, grace and genuine connection

- Coordinate all pre-commencement requirements, including documentation, compliance checks, system access and uniform allocation.

- Assist with orientation sessions that introduce new team members to Symbol’s philosophy, culture and service standards

HR Administration

- Maintain accurate and compliant employee records in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and Symbol’s internal data governance framework

- Administer employment contracts, variations and probationary review documentation

- Coordinate credentialing, registration checks (including AHPRA and police clearances) and ongoing compliance documentation

The Experience You'll Bring

- Minimum three years’ experience in a recruitment, HR generalist or similar roles (Employment Hero experience is desirable)

- Demonstrated recruitment experience within hospitality, tourism and/or premium service industries (Desirable but not essential)

- Sound understanding of Australian employment law, including the Fair Work Act, the SCHADS Award and relevant privacy legislation

- Proven ability to manage end-to-end recruitment processes with empathy, speed and a candidate-first approach

- Strong sourcing capability (LinkedIn, job boards, talent pools, referrals)

- Armed with smart solutions and a can-do attitude

- Exceptional interpersonal and written communication skills, with an instinct for warmth and professionalism

- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline (desirable but not essential with equivalent experience)
